Juresulem: Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Chikli has claimed that a civil war has already begun in France, warning that Belgium and Britain could be next.
In a post on X, Chikli said he had previously believed that the far right coming to power in France would trigger a civil war. However, he added that he had been “optimistic,” claiming that the conflict had already begun.
“I wish France victory over barbarism, despite its betrayal of Israel,” Chikli wrote.
Addressing Belgium and Britain, the Israeli minister added: “You are probably next. Get ready.”
Chikli’s remarks linked his assessment of France’s domestic situation to what he described as the country’s betrayal of Israel. He did not provide evidence in the post to substantiate his claim that a civil war had begun.
His statement also offered no specific details about what he believed could happen in Belgium or Britain. His remarks should therefore be understood as his own assessment and warning, rather than confirmation that civil wars have begun or are imminent in the three countries.
