LONDON: British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said that the United Kingdom has deployed an air defence system and a refuelling aircraft to support Saudi Arabia against the Houthis, reaffirming London’s commitment to standing alongside Riyadh.
According to Burnham, the British aircraft has completed 14 operational missions so far in support of Saudi Arabia.
He stressed that the UK would continue to support the kingdom in its efforts against the Houthis.
The British prime minister also expressed a strong suspicion that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was involved in an incident at RAF Fairford.
Burnham further said that Britain would impose additional sanctions on Iran and the IRGC.
