ISLAMABAD: The government has announced new prices for petroleum products, reducing the price of petrol by Rs2.93 per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs0.61 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced to Rs395.37 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now cost Rs396.85 per litre.
The new prices will take effect on October 13, 2026, under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products in line with the prescribed mechanism.
The Petroleum Division said the revised prices are linked to fluctuations in international oil markets.
According to the notification, changes in global market prices, freight rates, premiums and other related costs were taken into account while determining the new prices.
