Pakistan Accuses India of Providing Support to Militants in Afghanistan

NEW YORK: Pakistan has accused India of providing material and logistical support to the Taliban government in Afghanistan under the pretext of humanitarian assistance, allegedly to facilitate terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

Counsellor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Muhammad Jawad Ajmal, made the remarks in response to comments by an Indian representative.

Jawad Ajmal alleged that India was supporting and sponsoring militant groups, including Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) and Fitna al-Hindustan (BLA), through what he described as active assistance to its proxies operating from Afghanistan.

He further alleged that India’s role in extraterritorial killings and targeted assassinations abroad was known internationally.

The Pakistani diplomat said Pakistan would defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, people and national security.
