Quetta: Security forces have killed 18 militants in separate operations against militant groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces are continuing operations against Fitna al-Khawarij under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
Security sources said an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan resulted in the deaths of 13 militants. Security forces successfully targeted militant hideouts in North Waziristan and surrounding areas.
According to the sources, security forces had been maintaining continuous surveillance of militant movements before carrying out the operation.
Meanwhile, security forces are also conducting operations against Fitna al-Hindustan in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitan 3.
Security sources said five militants were killed during an operation in the Siyapast and Killi Gashtari areas of Mastung.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants.
Clearance and search operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. Security forces will continue operations until the threat is fully eliminated, according to security sources.
