DUBAI: Traditional rivals Pakistan and India are likely to be placed in the same group for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, according to media reports.
Despite Pakistan’s relatively modest record against India in World Cup encounters, the two teams are expected to feature in the same group, with commercial partners reportedly considering a Pakistan-India match essential during the group stage.
Pakistan-India clashes remain among the most commercially significant fixtures in ICC events and continue to attract considerable interest from broadcasters and sponsors.
The schedule for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 is set to be unveiled in Cape Town tomorrow at 9pm Pakistan Standard Time.
The 14-team tournament will be hosted by South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe from October 2 to November 21, 2027.
The one-year countdown to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will begin on October 1.
