QUETTA: Security forces have killed more than 71 militants in operations across Balochistan during the past 96 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the military’s media wing, security forces conducted an operation against militants in Shaban, Quetta, killing 33 militants allegedly linked to what it described as Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
The forces also cleared several militant hideouts and recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operation.
The ISPR said 23 militants had been killed during the past 72 hours, while security forces had cleared a vast area of militant presence.
It further said that operations in Nushki and Mand also led to the recovery of large quantities of weapons and ammunition.
According to the ISPR, more than 71 militants were killed in various areas of Balochistan during the past 96 hours.
The military said the operations had dealt a major blow to what it described as “Indian-backed Afghan proxies” operating in the province.
The ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign would continue with determination under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, adding that security forces and law-enforcement agencies remained committed to eliminating foreign-supported terrorism from the country.
