DUBAI — The United States military has confirmed its first troop deaths from direct Iranian fire since the opening days of the war, according to an Associated Press (AP) report.
The latest attack targeted a U.S. military base in Jordan, where two American service members were killed and another was reported missing following days of intensified exchanges of fire.
The U.S. military also said that a drone and missile attack on Friday left four additional service members hospitalized.
According to the AP report, the latest casualties bring the total number of U.S. military personnel killed since the start of the war to 16, while more than 430 have been wounded.
