Iran Denies Direct Talks With US in Doha, Says Meetings Held With Qatar and Pakistan

TEHRAN: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has said that no meeting took place between the Iranian and US delegations in Doha, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency.

Gharibabadi clarified that the Iranian delegation’s meetings in Doha were held only in a trilateral format involving officials from Iran, Qatar and Pakistan.

He added that the discussions with the Qatari and Pakistani delegations focused on following up on the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum of understanding with the United States, particularly issues related to Lebanon and the release of Iran’s frozen assets.
