Pakistan, Qatar Agree to Deepen Economic and Strategic Partnership in Doha Talks

DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a high-level meeting with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

During the meeting in Doha, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen its longstanding and fraternal ties with Qatar.

Both leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of political engagement between the two nations.

The discussions underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, and regional connectivity.

The two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening the brotherly relationship and translating strong political ties into tangible economic outcomes.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reiterated Qatar’s commitment to elevating its economic partnership with Pakistan to a higher strategic level.

The talks focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and unlocking new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.

The leaders also exchanged views on key regional and international developments.

They emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and the peaceful resolution of disputes, while reaffirming support for closer coordination in multilateral forums.

Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement on critical regional issues and continue consultations on matters of shared concern.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff, Syed Asim Munir, were also present during the meeting, reflecting the strategic importance of the bilateral engagement.

Later, in a post on social media platform X, the prime minister described his meeting with the Qatari emir as “warm and productive,” noting that discussions centered on advancing brotherly ties and strengthening economic relations between the two countries.

The meeting marks another step forward in Pakistan-Qatar relations, with both sides signaling a clear intent to translate political goodwill into expanded economic cooperation and sustained regional coordination.
