Clash at Pakistan-Afghanistan Border: Afghan Check Post Destroyed

Khyber (Web Desk) Tensions flared along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber district after what Pakistani officials described as unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces, prompting a swift and effective response from Pakistani security personnel.

According to Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson for foreign media, Musharraf Zaidi, the incidents occurred in the border areas of Torkham and Tirah, where Afghan forces allegedly opened sudden gunfire and shelling without provocation.

Security sources reported that clashes took place at three different points along the border, with an exchange of fire lasting nearly one hour. Pakistani forces responded decisively, bringing the situation under control.

In retaliatory action, Pakistani forces targeted an Afghan check post, which was reportedly destroyed.

The government reiterated that Pakistan will not compromise on its border sovereignty or the protection of its citizens.

Authorities warned that any further escalation or provocation would be met with an immediate and robust response.

While the situation in the area remains tense, security officials stated that it is currently under control, with forces on high alert to respond to any further developments along the border.
