BANNU: A former tehsil nazim was injured on Tuesday after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle in Domel area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police, the explosive device had been planted in advance and was detonated remotely as former Domel tehsil nazim Fida Muhammad Khan arrived at his office. The blast completely destroyed the vehicle.
Fida Muhammad Khan sustained injuries in the explosion and was rushed to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital in Bannu for medical treatment. His condition was not immediately confirmed.
Police officials said evidence was being collected from the scene, while an investigation had been launched to determine those responsible for the attack.
