Ishaq Dar Reviews Preparations for 2027 SCO Summit in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit, which Pakistan will host in Islamabad in 2027.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar reviewed progress on various aspects of the summit’s organization and emphasized the need for sustained coordination among the relevant ministries and departments.

He directed officials to ensure that all preparations are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Highlighting the significance of the summit, the deputy prime minister stressed that Pakistan’s arrangements should reflect the country’s renowned hospitality and its commitment to cooperation within the SCO framework.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the secretary of defence, the acting foreign secretary, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.

Pakistan’s hosting of the 2027 summit will provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation among SCO member states and advance regional engagement on shared priorities.
