PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has sought a response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on a petition seeking the appointment of a deputy chief minister in the province.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz Anwar heard the petition regarding the appointment of a deputy chief minister.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel argued that the provincial government was currently occupied with sit-ins, rallies and protests, claiming that the province was facing a governance crisis.
The counsel requested the court to direct the appointment of a deputy chief minister, saying the move could help address public issues and improve the functioning of the provincial government.
The court sought a response from the provincial government and adjourned further proceedings in the case.
