Pakistan Conducts Precision Airstrikes on Terrorist Hideouts in Afghanistan, 22 Reportedly Killed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has conducted “well-planned and calibrated” aerial strikes against terrorist hideouts and safe havens at two locations in Afghanistan as part of Operation Ghazab lil Haq.

According to the Ministry of Information, the strikes were carried out on the basis of credible intelligence and targeted camps and hideouts associated with Fitna al Khawarij, Fitna al Hindustan and their affiliates.

The ministry said the targets were engaged with precision and accuracy, with initial reports indicating that 22 terrorists were killed. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the targeted hideouts were also destroyed.

Pakistan said maximum precautions were taken during the operation to avoid civilian casualties and collateral damage, adding that the strikes specifically targeted terrorist hubs and safe havens.

The Ministry of Information said Pakistan remained committed to peace and stability in the region, but the safety and security of its citizens remained its foremost priority.

The ministry expressed concern over the continued presence of terrorist networks in Afghanistan and said the threat to Pakistan emanates from Afghanistan.

The strikes are part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign, Operation Ghazab lil Haq, being conducted under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision by the country’s security forces and law-enforcement agencies.

The ministry said the counterterrorism campaign would continue at full pace to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
