Rawalpindi: Security forces have killed seven militants in separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.
Under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision, security forces are continuing operations against militant groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to security sources, five militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Bara, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants.
Security forces also destroyed militant hideouts during the operation.
Meanwhile, security forces conducted an operation in Nok Chah area of Chagai district, Balochistan, under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, killing two militants.
Security sources said the militants had set an empty water tanker on fire in Nok Chah and attempted to flee the area. Security forces responded immediately and killed two militants.
The militants were also allegedly involved in arson attacks at various locations along the N-40 highway, according to security sources.
Security sources further said that 11 militants allegedly involved in similar acts of sabotage were killed on August 31.
Security forces have reiterated their resolve to continue operations against militancy and work toward establishing lasting peace and stability across the country.
