PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi has announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march towards Islamabad has been postponed until October 4.
Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Friday, the chief minister said the decision to defer the long march had been taken unanimously.
Sohail Afridi said all matters were discussed during a meeting of the PTI political committee, where consensus was reached that the march would now depart from Peshawar on October 4.
Criticising federal ministers, the KP chief minister said a federal minister could not even win a union council election.
He also condemned the language allegedly used by a federal minister against an elected chief minister.
PTI had been considering postponing its planned September 27 long march, with reports indicating that a majority of party leaders had favoured October 4 as the new date.
