Iran warns ships in Strait of Hormuz to follow approved routes or face ‘forceful response’

Iran’s joint military command has issued a warning to vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, saying they must adhere strictly to routes approved by Tehran or face what it described as a “forceful response,” according to Iran’s state broadcaster.

The statement, carried by Iranian state television, said that any failure to comply with designated navigation routes, deviation from approved paths, or disregard for Iran’s maritime navigation protocols in the Strait of Hormuz would trigger an immediate and forceful reaction from the country’s armed forces.

The warning was issued by the Khatam al-Anbiya military command following an incident on Wednesday in which a ship reportedly ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz after using a route that had not been approved by Iranian authorities, according to state media reports.
