Naushahro Feroze: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday called for collective efforts to strengthen the federation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to steering Pakistan towards economic progress and stability.
He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering in Moro city of Naushahro Feroze district, where he met local notables and elected representatives and also visited the residence of Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar.
Addressing the gathering, President Zardari said, “We will together strengthen the hands of the establishment, strengthen our own hands, and strengthen the country.”
The president stressed the importance of ensuring food self-sufficiency and strengthening the national economy in order to make Pakistan more stable and resilient.
He reiterated the government’s determination to improve the agricultural sector by increasing per-acre crop yield, enhancing farmers’ incomes, and uplifting the overall standard of living of the people.
Zardari stated that the government was fully aware of the hardships faced by the public and was making efforts to address those challenges with a focus on securing long-term benefits for future generations.
Referring to development initiatives in Gwadar, he said those projects were expected to bring positive economic transformation to both Balochistan and the country as a whole.
The president further stated that his party would continue to operate within the framework of the 1973 Constitution while taking measures aimed at empowering the people.
Recalling the sacrifices of the Bhutto family, Zardari said former president Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto, and Shahnawaz Bhutto had “embraced martyrdom for Pakistan.”
“We exist because of Pakistan,” he added.
During his speech, President Zardari also criticised India, accusing it of committing injustices against Muslims and claiming that such developments were not being adequately reported because of restrictions imposed on the Indian media.
He further alleged that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had deprived the people of occupied Kashmir of their fundamental rights.
Referring to the May 2025 conflict between Pakistan and India, Zardari said Pakistan had demonstrated its military capability during the four-day escalation, during which, according to him, eight Indian aircraft were shot down.
He added that Pakistan had the capacity to inflict greater damage on India but deliberately chose to avoid further escalation.
