Metro Bus Catches Fire in Rawalpindi, No Casualties Reported

RAWALPINDI: A Metro bus caught fire near the 6th Road station in Rawalpindi on Saturday morning; however, all passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the fire erupted while the bus was passing the 6th Road stop. The flames quickly spread through the vehicle, completely destroying the bus before firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the alert and successfully extinguished the blaze. Authorities confirmed that no passengers or staff members were harmed in the incident.

Following the fire, Metro bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad was temporarily suspended. Officials said the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined and an investigation is underway.

Thick plumes of smoke rising from the burning bus were visible from a considerable distance. Videos circulating on social media showed the red Metro bus engulfed in flames while rescue personnel worked to put out the fire.
