KARACHI: Alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on Friday in multiple narcotics cases and a murder case.
Anmol was arrested earlier this month in Karachi in connection with two cases related to the possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. Prior to her arrest, she had already been booked in several criminal cases, taking the total number of active cases against her to more than a dozen.
On Friday, she was brought to the Judicial Complex at Central Jail under tight security arrangements.
She was presented before the relevant judicial magistrates after the completion of her physical remands in cases registered at the Baghdadi, Specialised Investigation Unit (SIU/CIA), Gizri and Darakhshan police stations.
Friday marked the completion of Anmol’s physical remands in a narcotics case and a murder case, along with separate remands in 10 old drug-related cases.
In all the cases, the prosecution sought further custody of the suspect.
However, the court sent her to jail on judicial remand in all the cases and directed the investigation officers (IOs) to submit charge-sheets after completing their investigations.
Earlier in the day, the South district and sessions judge had approved requests filed by the Darakhshan, Gizri, Garden and Defence police to present Anmol before the Judicial Complex.
