PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday approved a summary for the expansion of the provincial cabinet and signed the notification for the induction of 18 new cabinet members proposed by the office of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
According to an official statement issued by the Governor’s House, the governor formally approved the summary sent by the provincial government for the expansion of the cabinet.
The statement said the provincial government had recommended the appointment of six new ministers, four advisers and eight special assistants to the chief minister, all of which received the governor’s approval.
The oath-taking ceremony for the newly inducted cabinet members is scheduled to take place at the Governor’s House on Sunday (today).
Although the official notification had not been released at the time this report was filed, Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan confirmed the names of the appointees.
The newly appointed ministers include Nazir Ahmad Abbasi, Shakil Ahmad, Muhammad Adnan Qadri, Muhammad Arif Ahmadzai, Tariq Mehmood Aryani and Shafiullah Jan, who previously served as the Special Assistant for Information and Public Relations.
The new advisers named in the cabinet are Pir Musawir Shah, Liaquat Ali Khan, Humayun Khan and Mian Muhammad Umar.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed special assistants include Tariq Saeed, Muhammad Usman, Tufail Anjum, Iftikharullah Jan, Samiullah Khan, Malik Adeel Iqbal, Muhammad Khurshid and Muhammad Israr.
