ANTALYA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum today as part of the third leg of his tri-nation tour, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Friday.
According to the PMO, the prime minister will take part in a leaders’ panel titled “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties” at the fifth edition of the forum being held in Antalya.
During the panel discussion, the premier will present Pakistan’s perspective and is also expected to hold meetings with other global leaders attending the forum. The PMO added that Prime Minister Shehbaz will also attend the inaugural ceremony of the forum.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is accompanying the premier on the tri-nation visit, met Northern Cyprus Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu. During their meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of education and welfare of the Pakistani diaspora in the country, according to the Foreign Office.
They also agreed to maintain close engagement and continue working together to promote mutual benefit for their peoples. A day earlier, after spending time in Qatar discussing regional developments with its leadership, Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Turkiye, where he is scheduled to brief President Erdogan on ongoing peace efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East, in addition to attending the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
