Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed deep concern over an incident at Khor Fakkan port in the United Arab Emirates, where a missile interception resulted in injuries to three Pakistani nationals.
The development comes as Gulf countries, including the UAE, have been impacted by Iran’s retaliatory actions amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
In a post on X, the prime minister said he was “deeply concerned” about the incident, noting that an intercepted projectile had caused injuries to civilians, including Pakistanis.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and assured that Pakistan is maintaining close contact with UAE authorities to provide all possible assistance to its citizens in the country.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Shehbaz Sharif said the country stands in solidarity with the brotherly people of the UAE and stressed the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region.
