Trump attacks Britain’s PM Starmer for not joining Iran war

Washington: President Trump has lashed out at Britain’s PM Starmer for refusing to back Washington’s war against Iran, warning that the so-called “special relationship” now faces strain.

“He has not been helpful…I never thought I’d see that. I never thought I’d see that from the UK,” Trump said of Starmer. He added that ties between the two countries had shifted dramatically.

“It’s a different world, actually. It’s just a much different kind of relationship that we’ve had with your country before.

”Trump said he had never expected to see what he described as the once “most solid of all” alliances come under such pressure.

The US president also suggested that Washington no longer depends on Britain to prosecute its wars in the Middle East.“It’s not going to matter, but [Starmer] should have helped… he should have,” Trump said.
