Doha (Monitoring Desk) The Ministry of Defense of the State of Qatar has claimed that its air force shot down two Iranian Su-24 fighter jets that were allegedly approaching Qatari airspace from Iran.
According to a statement cited by Al Jazeera, Qatari officials said their air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 7 Iranian ballistic missiles and 5 drones before they could reach their intended targets.
The ministry asserted that all incoming projectiles were neutralized mid-air and did not cause any damage.
The Qatari government emphasized that its defense systems remain on full alert and warned that it is prepared to respond immediately to any form of aggression.
The statement did not provide independent verification of the claims, and Iranian authorities have yet to issue an official response regarding the alleged downing of the aircraft.
