Senior Pakistani actress Saba Faisal has come under criticism on social media following her recent remarks about the role and responsibilities of newly married brides in their in-laws’ homes.

During the programme, Saba Faisal stated that following a wedding, the in-laws’ household is often busy with guests and added responsibilities, most of which are handled by the mother-in-law. She suggested that newly married brides do not immediately carry major responsibilities during this period.
The actress further remarked that if a bride feels the need to rest, she should seek permission from her mother-in-law or married sister-in-law. According to her, if rest is not offered proactively, the bride should politely request it, as making direct demands may not be well received in traditional households.
She also emphasised the importance of tone and manner, claiming that even a strict mother-in-law would likely allow rest if approached respectfully.
