Supreme Court Allows Imran Khan’s Lawyer to Meet Him in Jail

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday permitted Barrister Salman Safdar, counsel for incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, to meet the former prime minister at Adiala Jail and declared him a “friend of the court”.

During the proceedings, the court observed that it would be appropriate to seek a report on the living conditions of the PTI founder. It directed that Barrister Salman Safdar be granted access to Imran Khan’s barracks to enable him to submit a written assessment.

The apex court further instructed the lawyer to submit his report on the living conditions of the jailed PTI leader by Wednesday.
