{"id":8093,"date":"2026-11-08T14:21:25","date_gmt":"2026-11-08T14:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=8093"},"modified":"2026-11-08T14:21:37","modified_gmt":"2026-11-08T14:21:37","slug":"our-policy-will-come-from-islamabad-not-jalalabad-or-kandahar-governor-kundi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=8093","title":{"rendered":"Our Policy Will Come From Islamabad, Not Jalalabad or Kandahar: Governor Kundi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Peshawar<\/strong>: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the province&#8217;s policy will be set in Islamabad, not dictated from Jalalabad or Kandahar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said there will be no talks with those who take up arms against the state, only war, and that winning this war is the only option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Governor Kundi said he fully supports counter-terrorism operations and that intelligence-based operations are essential to restore peace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There can be no negotiations with those who take up arms against the state,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the PTI government had not been serious about eliminating terrorism in the province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are standing at a point of no return, and defeat is not an option for us,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kundi said terrorists who had fled to Afghanistan were resettled here, and stressed that a coordinated strategy is needed to root out terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the press conference, KP Home Secretary Amjad Ali said the resources of the police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) will be increased. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the police will be strengthened and equipped with modern technology, and their needs for weapons and equipment will be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said Rs10.3 billion will be provided to the CTD, while Rs70 billion has been allocated for the police. He added that the compensation package for police martyrs is higher than in other provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amjad Ali said the previous government allocated Rs6.4 billion for 22 districts but released only Rs1 billion. He said more than 1,000 soldiers have been martyred in the war against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said those spreading propaganda against the security forces are enemies of the country, and that social media monitoring is being improved to expose terrorist networks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the inactive previous government had not cooperated in the repatriation of Afghan refugees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the province&#8217;s policy will be set in Islamabad, not dictated from Jalalabad or Kandahar.
