{"id":7761,"date":"2026-10-26T07:39:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T07:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=7761"},"modified":"2026-10-26T08:39:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T08:39:24","slug":"ali-baqeri-highlights-west-asia-security-agenda-ahead-of-high-level-tehran-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=7761","title":{"rendered":"Ali Baqeri Highlights West Asia Security Agenda Ahead of High-Level Tehran Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TEHRAN<\/strong> \u2014 Senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye are expected to visit Tehran for a joint meeting with Iranian officials to discuss regional security and strengthen cooperation among West Asian countries, according to Iran\u2019s state news agency IRNA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ali Baqeri, Deputy Secretary of Iran\u2019s Supreme National Security Council, said the proposed meeting would focus on consultations regarding regional security and the development of a security framework based on the capabilities and cooperation of regional countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to IRNA, Baqeri said Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, had indicated during his visit to Iran last week that senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye intended to travel to Tehran for a joint meeting with Iranian leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expected participants include Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s intelligence chief, Ibrahim Kalin. The officials are expected to hold discussions with General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran\u2019s Supreme National Security Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baqeri said Iran supports a regional security framework in which West Asian countries rely on their own capabilities and collective efforts to maintain peace and stability. He described Iran\u2019s defence model as one based on indigenous capabilities and said it had demonstrated its effectiveness in safeguarding national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Criticising the regional policies of the United States and Israel, Baqeri argued that foreign interference in West Asia undermines the security and stability of regional countries. He said Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye could play an effective role in strengthening regional security through consultations and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Iranian official added that Tehran\u2019s proposed security framework was based on regional participation and shared responsibility, with an emphasis on reducing dependence on external powers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baqeri expressed hope that cooperation among regional countries would contribute to lasting peace, stability and development across West Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The anticipated meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions and growing diplomatic engagement among countries seeking to address shared security concerns.
