{"id":7512,"date":"2026-10-19T17:24:30","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T17:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=7512"},"modified":"2026-10-19T17:24:31","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T17:24:31","slug":"punjab-government-moves-to-ban-spy-devices-disguised-as-everyday-items","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=7512","title":{"rendered":"Punjab Government Moves to Ban Spy Devices Disguised as Everyday Items"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lahore<\/strong>: The Punjab government has decided to impose a complete ban on glasses, pens, watches and other devices equipped with hidden cameras and recording equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision was taken during a Punjab cabinet meeting held on Monday, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the media after the meeting, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said the move was aimed particularly at ensuring the safety and protection of women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the provincial government, strict legal action will be taken against the use, purchase and sale of spy equipment and concealed electronic devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Punjab government spokesperson said complaints had emerged regarding illegal surveillance, harassment and blackmail carried out using such devices.
