The discussions focused on the development and rebuilding of the Somali Air Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The engagement follows a defence cooperation agreement signed between Pakistan and Somalia in August, covering areas including counterterrorism, training and capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. However, no such arms agreement has been officially announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Retired Pakistan Air Force Group Captain and defence writer Sultan M. Hali said Pakistan could support Somalia beyond the provision of military equipment by helping train pilots, technicians and aviation engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that Somalia would require skilled personnel and technical expertise to operate and maintain an effective air force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Somalia\u2019s strategic location near major maritime routes connecting Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe could also give the growing Pakistan-Somalia defence relationship wider strategic and economic significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E.
