NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Libya\u2019s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Al-Taher Al-Baour, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in further strengthening friendly relations between Pakistan and Libya across various fields, particularly trade, education and business-to-business exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They discussed its implications for regional peace and stability, energy supplies and the global economy, particularly for developing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Libyan Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan\u2019s constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senator Ishaq Dar underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of addressing regional challenges. He also stressed the need for all parties to return to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance regional stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
