{"id":6624,"date":"2026-09-18T05:16:56","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T05:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=6624"},"modified":"2026-09-18T05:16:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T05:16:57","slug":"white-house-dismisses-un-report-alleging-us-war-crimes-in-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=6624","title":{"rendered":"White House dismisses UN report alleging US war crimes in Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Washington: The White House has rejected a UN human rights report finding \u201creasonable grounds\u201d to believe the United States committed war crimes in two strikes in Iran on February 28, including on a school in the southern city of Minab, Al Jazeera reported, citing a statement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spokeswoman Anna Kelly said the UN\u2019s Human Rights Council has \u201caccomplished nothing for human rights while spouting unserious nonsense for decades,\u201d according to remarks carried by The Washington Post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kelly added, \u201cThe only party in this conflict that has committed war crimes is the Iranian regime.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trump administration has yet to acknowledge any responsibility for the attack on the school or release a Pentagon investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report, published Thursday by a UN fact-finding mission, centres on two US air strikes on the first day of the war which killed at least 178 civilians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attacks include the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, which Iranian media say killed 168 people, mostly children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UN mission concluded the school \u201cwas the intended point of impact\u201d, not collateral damage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington: The White House has rejected a UN human rights report finding \u201creasonable grounds\u201d to believe the United States committed war crimes in two strikes in Iran on February 28,&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":5570,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[100,765,254,1423],"class_list":["post-6624","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-world","tag-donald-trump","tag-middle-east-conflict","tag-united-states","tag-war-against-iran"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.4 -
