{"id":6458,"date":"2026-08-29T17:44:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T17:44:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=6458"},"modified":"2026-08-29T17:44:22","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T17:44:22","slug":"hina-javed-murder-case-rawalpindi-court-extends-suspects-remand-for-third-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=6458","title":{"rendered":"Hina Javed Murder Case: Rawalpindi Court Extends Suspects\u2019 Remand for Third Time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A judicial magistrate in Rawalpindi on Saturday extended the physical remand of the two suspects arrested in connection with the murder of digital designer Hina Javed by four days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">45-year-old Hina was found dead at her in-laws\u2019 home on August 20 after her father-in-law informed cops that burglars had broken into the house. Police found her body tied to a shower in the bathroom, with her hands bound behind her back. Later, police apprehended her husband and a servant in connection with the murder, and the courts sent the two for consecutive three-day physical remands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the suspects, Hina\u2019s husband Faisal Asghar and servant Zeeshan, were produced before Duty Judicial Magistrate Nadia Yaqoob after the lapse of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2625943\/hina-javed-murder-rawalpindi-court-extends-physical-remand-of-husband-servant\">previous<\/a>&nbsp;physical remand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judicial Magistrate Nadia Yaqoob ordered the police to complete their investigation and present both men before the court on September 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Civil Lines police station had requested a seven-day physical remand of the suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an application written to the magistrate, seen by&nbsp;<em>The Express Tribune<\/em>, the SHO requested the extension of physical remand to find a screwdriver and other tools used for the murder, as well as the documentation of Asghar\u2019s first marriage and divorce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the proceedings, the SHO told the court that the suspects had already spent six days in police custody for the probe; however, the police require an extension of the remand to find other evidence related to Hina\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said police were yet to recover \u201ca rope, wire and cloth\u201d used during the crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SHO, meanwhile, reportedly prevented the suspects from being questioned during the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A day earlier, police claimed that the domestic worker had&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2626074\/hina-javed-murder-domestic-worker-confesses-to-crime-police-say\">confessed<\/a>&nbsp;to the crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, Duty Judicial Magistrate Rana Shehbaz Khan had granted police a further three-day physical remand of the two suspects and directed investigators to complete the investigation and submit a challan on August 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The murder case<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hina was allegedly killed by her husband in connivance with his father and an employee. A preliminary post-mortem report found a fracture to a neck bone and injuries to Hina&#8217;s ribs and hip. Samples, including those required for DNA analysis, were sent to a forensic laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said the precise cause of death remained unestablished until the issuance of complete post-mortem and forensic reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A special investigation team, headed by Investigation SSP Saifullah, took Hina&#8217;s husband Asghar and servant Zeeshan to Lahore under tight security earlier on Tuesday. Their samples were submitted to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) for DNA and polygraph examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hina&#8217;s father-in-law, who has been included in the investigation, accompanied the team and was questioned before they returned to Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, police sources drew attention to old YouTube lectures by Asghar, who reportedly taught corporate communication at several universities. In one lecture, he asked a student why a husband might shoot his wife and discussed hypothetical scenarios involving marital relationships, infidelity and financial motives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police sources, domestic worker Zeeshan gave three different statements from the time he was taken into custody until the formal investigation. In his first statement, Zeeshan claimed that Hina Javed was killed according to a plan in collaboration with Faisal Asghar Imam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his second&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2625708\/hina-javed-murder-probe-takes-new-turn\">statement<\/a>, he claimed responsibility for the murder. However, during the formal police investigation, Zeeshan allegedly recorded a third statement, saying he had been called during a quarrel between the husband and wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police sources, domestic worker Zeeshan also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2625708\/hina-javed-murder-probe-takes-new-turn\">revealed<\/a>&nbsp;that Hina Javed resisted and tried to run away to save her life, after which both men caught her. During her resistance, she was allegedly strangled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police sources, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2625708\/hina-javed-murder-probe-takes-new-turn\">investigation<\/a>&nbsp;into Hina Javed&#8217;s murder is not limited to her husband and domestic worker, and inquiries are being conducted from various angles. Police are also examining whether domestic worker Zeeshan killed Hina Javed after she allegedly saw him stealing money or other items from the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to sources, Zeeshan used to sleep in a portion of the house occupied by Hina Javed and other family members. He had also been accused of stealing Hina Javed&#8217;s purse, cash and other items from the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are investigating whether Zeeshan killed Hina Javed out of fear that his alleged theft would be discovered.
