{"id":5635,"date":"2026-07-08T12:44:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T12:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=5635"},"modified":"2026-07-08T12:44:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T12:44:12","slug":"dg-ispr-38-security-personnel-martyred-54-terrorists-killed-in-recent-balochistan-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=5635","title":{"rendered":"DG ISPR: 38 security personnel martyred, 54 terrorists killed in recent Balochistan attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ISLAMABAD: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Wednesday said 42 people, including civilians and security personnel, were martyred while 54 terrorists were killed during three major terrorist incidents in Balochistan over the past four days.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR said the province witnessed three major terrorist attacks during the period, adding that security forces, police, the Frontier Corps (FC) and other law enforcement agencies responded swiftly and continued operations against the attackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to the first incident, Lt Gen Chaudhry said terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij attacked innocent civilians in Hanna Urak on the night of July 4-5. He said local residents resisted the assault with courage, forcing the attackers to flee. According to the military spokesman, four civilians were martyred and six others were injured in the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government uses the term Fitna al-Khawarij to refer to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliated groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explaining the second incident, the DG ISPR said Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists launched a multidirectional attack on a police checkpost guarding Pumping Station No. 3 of Mangi Dam in Ziarat district. He recalled that the attack, which occurred late on Monday night, claimed the lives of nine policemen, including two station house officers (SHOs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lt Gen Chaudhry said the police personnel fought bravely and managed to kill 15 terrorists before reinforcements from the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps could reach the area. However, before additional forces arrived, the terrorists took the remaining police officials hostage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said security forces exercised restraint during the operation to avoid harming the hostages, refraining from using aerial assets because the militants had captured police personnel. He added that all the policemen deployed at the post were local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military spokesman said security forces, the FC and other law enforcement agencies continued surrounding and engaging the terrorists in the mountains of Ziarat. He revealed that 18 more policemen were martyred during the ongoing operation after the militants, finding themselves encircled, killed the hostages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lt Gen Chaudhry said operations in the area were still continuing and 11 more terrorists had so far been confirmed killed, bringing the total number of terrorists eliminated in the Ziarat operation to 26. He added that the total number of police personnel martyred in the attack and subsequent operation had risen to 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detailing the third incident, the DG ISPR said an army convoy came under attack by terrorists of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in the Bela-Winder area near the N-25 highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said 11 soldiers, including one junior commissioned officer (JCO) and 10 jawans, were martyred, while security forces killed 14 BLA terrorists during the engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government uses the term Fitna al-Hindustan to describe groups it alleges are backed by India to carry out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lt Gen Chaudhry further said security forces also conducted successful operations in Kharan, where six terrorists were killed, and in Dalbandin, where eight more terrorists were eliminated. He said all of them belonged to Fitna al-Hindustan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Summarising the casualties from the recent incidents, the DG ISPR said four civilians, 27 policemen and 11 army personnel were martyred, taking the total number of martyrs to 42.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paying tribute to the victims, he said the 42 martyrs had laid down their lives while defending the country and protecting its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military spokesman added that 54 terrorists had been confirmed killed, according to the latest figures.
