Rawalpindi: EcoHope Trust, under the support of the European Union and in collaboration with NCPC, successfully launched its flagship climate action initiative, \u201cGreen Street Warriors,\u201d at ARL Horticulture Institute, Morgah, Rawalpindi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project aims to empower children from marginalized communities by transforming them into future climate change leaders and environmental advocates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has commenced with 25 street children, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills in environmental sustainability, urban gardening, and climate resilience. The fellowship is designed as a six to seven-month capacity-building program, focusing on hands-on learning and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the inaugural activities, participants received comprehensive training on kitchen gardening, including seasonal plantation techniques for spring and monsoon crops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children were introduced to sustainable gardening practices and actively participated in practical gardening sessions, enabling them to apply their learning in real-life settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To further enhance environmental awareness, the participants were also taken on an educational visit to a Biodiversity Park, where they explored the importance of biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection, and sustainable environmental practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EcoHope Trust distributed essential gardening materials, including planting boards, seeds, and other learning resources, enabling the children to continue their gardening journey beyond the training sessions. Through these activities, the project seeks to promote food security, environmental stewardship, and climate-conscious behavior among vulnerable youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, representatives of EcoHope Trust highlighted the importance of investing in young people as agents of change, emphasizing that environmental education and practical climate action can create long-term positive impacts within marginalized communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
