Houston(Special Report): <\/strong>Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, a distinguished Pakistani-American humanitarian, community leader, and advocate for Pakistan\u2013United States relations, was conferred the prestigious Sitara-e- Khidmat by Asif Ali Zardari during an investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on May 13,
2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award was bestowed in recognition of Mr. Sheikh\u2019s more than 45 years of humanitarian service, civic leadership, philanthropy, and contributions toward strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and the United States. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, members of civil society, distinguished guests, and recipients of
national honors from across Pakistan and overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Expressing his gratitude, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst and foremost, I thank Allah (SWT) for His countless blessings, guidance, and strength
throughout this journey of service. I accept this prestigious recognition with deep humility and
gratitude. This honor is not solely mine, but belongs to all those individuals, organizations,
volunteers, and supporters who have stood beside me throughout this journey of service to
humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He dedicated the honor to the people of Pakistan, the overseas Pakistani community, and all
those who believe in compassion, unity, and service beyond borders. He also thanked Syed
Javaid Anwar, his late parents, wife Farida Sheikh, and sons Sufiyan Sheikh and Sameer Sheikh
for their support and encouragement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Sheikh began his community service journey in Hyderabad, Sindh, through Junior Chamber
International, later serving as National President of JCI Pakistan and earning the distinction of
JCI Senator. After moving to Houston, Texas, he expanded his humanitarian and civic initiatives
internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

As Coordinator of Alliance for Disaster Relief in Houston, he mobilized humanitarian assistance
worth millions of dollars during floods, earthquakes, and natural disasters in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As President of the Houston\u2013Karachi Sister City Association under Sister Cities of Houston, he
promoted cultural understanding, civic diplomacy, humanitarian collaboration, and bilateral
engagement between Pakistan and the United States. Under his leadership, initiatives including
clean drinking water projects, Reverse Osmosis water plants, medical supplies, healthcare
equipment, educational development, youth empowerment, and humanitarian assistance projects
were launched in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Among the major educational initiatives undertaken during his recent visit to Pakistan was the
reconstruction of the Siraj-ud-Dola Girls and Boys Primary School in North Nazimabad, Karachi, in collaboration with the Momina and Duraid Foundation of HUM Network and support
from Houston-based philanthropists and community partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Sheikh is also recognized for organizing the annual Houston Iftar gathering, regarded as one
of the largest interfaith Ramadan events in the United States, promoting unity, inclusion,
interfaith harmony, and stronger community relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his decades of public service, Mr. Sheikh has received numerous national and
international recognitions for his humanitarian contributions and civic leadership. During his
remarks, he also paid tribute to the late Ashfaq Seth for his contributions to community service
and humanitarian causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muhammad Saeed Sheikh reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving humanity and
strengthening Pakistan\u2013United States relations through friendship, understanding, and
cooperation between communities worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
