DHAKA: Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing a target of 268 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 163 in 52.5 overs after resuming the final session at 116-3. Bangladesh sealed the victory thanks to an outstanding five-wicket haul by Nahid Rana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan suffered an early setback when Taskin Ahmed struck in the very first over, dismissing Imam-ul-Haq for just two runs off five deliveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the early loss, Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal steadied the innings with a vital 50-run partnership for the second wicket, helping Pakistan regain some stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stand ended at 54 when Azan Awais was dismissed for 15 off 33 balls after hitting one boundary off Mehidy Hasan Miraz, leaving Pakistan at 57-2 in 12.1 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon after, Nahid Rana struck to remove captain Shan Masood cheaply for two runs off five balls, further damaging Pakistan\u2019s chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taijul Islam then joined the attack, dismissing Abdullah Fazal LBW after a brilliant 66 off 113 deliveries, which included 11 fours, ending the 51-run stand with Salman Ali Agha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next over, Taskin Ahmed picked up his second wicket by removing Salman Ali Agha for 26 off 39 balls, which included one boundary, leaving Pakistan struggling at 121-5 in 32.4 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel attempted to rebuild the innings, adding important runs and taking Pakistan past the 150-mark with a composed partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Nahid Rana struck again, dismissing Saud Shakeel for 15 off 32 balls, including two fours, leaving Pakistan at 152-6 in 44.3 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rana then removed Mohammad Rizwan, who was bowled after scoring 15 off 46 deliveries with one four, further deepening Pakistan\u2019s collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wickets continued to fall as Taijul Islam dismissed Hasan Ali LBW for one run off seven balls, while Nahid Rana took his fourth wicket by removing Noman Ali for four runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rana completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Shaheen Afridi for a duck, wrapping up Pakistan\u2019s innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nahid Rana finished with excellent figures of 5\/40 in 9.5 overs. Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed claimed two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz took one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 240-9, extending their lead and setting Pakistan a target of 268 runs after resuming the final day at 152-3 in 50.3 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led from the front with a composed 87 off 150 deliveries, hitting seven boundaries during his innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mominul Haque also contributed significantly with 56 off 120 balls, including four fours, helping Bangladesh build a strong position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mushfiqur Rahim added useful runs of 24 and 22 respectively, while the rest of the batting lineup failed to make major contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier on the fourth day, Pakistan\u2019s bowlers had made early breakthroughs in Bangladesh\u2019s second innings. Mohammad Abbas dismissed Mahmudul Hasan Joy lbw for five off 26 balls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hasan Ali then removed Shadman Islam for 10 off 22 deliveries, despite a brief counterattack that included two boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangladesh, however, recovered strongly through Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto, who formed a crucial partnership and guided the hosts past 50 runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The duo added a commanding 105-run stand, both scoring half-centuries and taking Bangladesh past the 100-run mark in control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaheen Shah Afridi eventually broke the partnership by dismissing Mominul Haque for 56, reducing Bangladesh to 128-3 in 42.5 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Noman Ali took three wickets each, Shaheen Afridi claimed two, while Mohammad Abbas added one wicket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first innings, Bangladesh were bowled out for 413 in 117.1 overs after electing to bat first. Key contributions came from Mominul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mushfiqur Rahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After losing early wickets at 31-2, Haque and Shanto rebuilt the innings with a crucial 170-run partnership, stabilising Bangladesh\u2019s position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both batters reached half-centuries, with Shanto converting his into a century. Haque scored 91 off 200 balls with 10 fours, while Shanto made 101 off 130 deliveries, including 12 fours and two sixes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mushfiqur Rahim added 71 off 179 balls, while Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed contributed 33 and 28 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammad Abbas led Pakistan\u2019s bowling effort with figures of 5\/92 in 34 overs, supported by Shaheen Shah Afridi with three wickets, and Hasan Ali and Noman Ali with one wicket each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 386 in 100.3 overs, narrowly conceding a 27-run first-innings deficit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong performances came from debutants Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal, along with Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan. Azan top-scored with 103, Abdullah made 60, Salman scored 58, and Rizwan contributed 59.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
