ISLAMABAD: <\/strong>Pakistan\u2019s military said there was \u201cno space for war\u201d between two nuclear neighbours as the country marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, while reaffirming its commitment to peace, regional stability and national defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remarks were made by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry during a press conference alongside Rear Admiral Shifaat Ali Khan and Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 6-7 last year, India \u2014 after levelling what Pakistan described as baseless and unfounded allegations over an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir \u2014 launched strikes against Pakistan, prompting a forceful response from Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conflict, which lasted more than 80 hours, eventually ended on May 10 following intervention by the United States. During the confrontation, multiple Indian jets and drones were reportedly downed, further strengthening Pakistan\u2019s image as a \u201cnet security stabiliser\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe welcome you to ISPR on this happy day,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry said at the beginning of the press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that Pakistan\u2019s armed forces had defeated an enemy \u201cfive times larger than itself\u201d and also described India as a \u201cterrorist state\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without going into the operational details of Marka-e-Haq, the ISPR director general said the military leadership would instead elaborate on what he called the \u201c10 strategic consequences\u201d of the conflict.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
