TEL AVIV: <\/strong>Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that he had successfully undergone treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, though he did not specify when the treatment took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement on social media, issued alongside his annual medical report, Netanyahu, 76, revealed that an early-stage malignant tumor had been discovered during a routine checkup.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that \u201ctargeted treatment\u201d had removed \u201cthe problem\u201d completely, leaving no trace of the cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the medical report, which otherwise described the prime minister as being in good health, he was treated with radiation therapy for early-stage prostate cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither the medical report nor Netanyahu disclosed the timing of the treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israel\u2019s longest-serving prime minister added that he had delayed releasing the medical report by two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the delay was intended to prevent Iran from spreading \u201cfalse propaganda against Israel.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March, during the period of fighting with Iran, rumors circulated on social media and were also aired on Iranian state media claiming that Netanyahu had died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Netanyahu recorded a video of himself visiting a caf\u00e9 in Jerusalem in March to refute the claims.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Netanyahu previously underwent prostate surgery in 2024 after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection caused by benign prostate enlargement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, he was fitted with a pacemaker.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elections in Israel are scheduled to be held by October.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
