{"id":3311,"date":"2026-04-20T06:43:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T06:43:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=3311"},"modified":"2026-04-20T06:43:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T06:43:18","slug":"punjab-to-get-first-sky-glass-bridge-and-train-as-maryam-nawaz-approves-murree-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=3311","title":{"rendered":"Punjab to get first sky glass bridge and train as Maryam Nawaz approves Murree project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LAHORE:<\/strong> Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has granted principal approval for the \u201cSky Glass Bridge\u201d project in Kotli Sattian, Murree, making it the first project of its kind in Punjab and aimed at boosting tourism in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision was taken during a high-level meeting co-chaired by Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif, where officials reviewed the Murree Protection and Restoration Plan. During the meeting, it was decided that international experts would be engaged to address landslides in Murree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chief minister directed authorities to take immediate measures to control the \u201cmudflow hill effect\u201d and ordered financial assistance and rehabilitation efforts for those affected by landslides in Chatta Mour, Darya Gali, Bansra Gali, Namal, Jheka Gali, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, approval was granted to establish three new \u201cHospitality Zones\u201d on the outskirts of Murree, specifically in Shawala, Sozu, and Bruri. In collaboration with the private sector, high-standard five-star hotels will also be constructed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A dedicated team of experts has been formed to oversee the Murree Restoration Project. Maryam Nawaz also set a one-month deadline to begin construction on the Murree Glass Train Project. The meeting further reviewed plans for three new parks and was briefed on several development initiatives, including a zoological garden in Bansra Gali, an eco-zone, a bridge crossing, and a state-of-the-art conference facility.To protect wildlife, plans include the establishment of a \u201cBear &amp; Tiger House\u201d and a \u201cBird Aviary.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, Murree\u2019s first Glamping Pod Village will be developed at Chewra Hill to attract tourists, with its management to be handed over to the private sector.Other approvals included the creation of a Paragliding Club in Chewra, while the Kotli Sattian Chairlift, Punjab House, and Forest Rest House projects remain under review. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chief minister also directed that the feasibility report for the bulk water supply scheme from the Jhelum River to Murree be completed by April 30.
