Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an urgent diplomatic push to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, stating that efforts toward a peaceful settlement are progressing \u201csteadily, strongly, and powerfully,\u201d with the potential to yield substantive results in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a formal appeal, the Prime Minister urged Donald Trump to extend the current deadline by two weeks to allow diplomacy to run its full course. He emphasized that such a move would provide critical space for negotiations to mature and deliver a conclusive outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharif also made a goodwill request to Iran, asking its leadership to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding period of two weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described the step as an important confidence-building measure that could help de-escalate tensions in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Pakistan called on all warring parties to observe a complete ceasefire for two weeks, stressing that a temporary halt in hostilities is essential for diplomacy to achieve a lasting resolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
