TEHRAN<\/strong>: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, its Navy chief, who succumbed to injuries sustained during recent US-Israeli strikes, the organization announced on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the IRGC, Tangsiri was critically wounded while overseeing the reinforcement of defensive positions on Iran\u2019s coastal areas and islands amid ongoing operations against foreign forces. The statement credited the strikes with significant damage to enemy infrastructure, including the downing of a US fighter jet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IRGC hailed Tangsiri as a pivotal figure in Iran\u2019s naval history, noting that his death would not halt ongoing military activities. It commended the naval forces for demonstrating \u201cfirm command and decisive management\u201d during the recent confrontations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization also recalled its historical engagements with foreign militaries, including the Iran-Iraq War, past seizures of foreign naval personnel, and clashes in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, asserting that each IRGC fighter embodies the spirit of \u201ca Tangsiri.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Condolences were extended to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hussein Khamenei, the Iranian people, and the country\u2019s naval forces. The statement reaffirmed Iran\u2019s commitment to continue its military campaign \u201cuntil the complete defeat of the enemy and the liberation of al-Quds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
