Residents described the spectacle as unusually dramatic, with flashes so bright that parts of the country briefly appeared \u201clike daytime in the dark,\u201d while loud thunderclaps disrupted the night around 11pm local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The severe weather impacted several emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi. Authorities reported significant rainfall in some regions, with Fujairah recording 47.9mm. In Ras Al Khaimah, flooding was reported on sections of Emirates Road due to overflow from Al Beeh and Qada\u2019a valleys, prompting officials to advise motorists to seek alternative routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Centre of Meteorology issued a flash flood alert shortly after midnight as the storm system moved from western areas toward Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Travel disruptions were also anticipated, with Dubai Airports advising passengers to allow extra time when heading to major hubs such as DXB and DWC due to possible delays caused by adverse weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities in Ras Al Khaimah also announced the temporary closure of Jebel Jais, citing dangerous conditions brought on by the storm. Officials stressed that public safety remained a priority as emergency teams continued to monitor affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the UAE government and the meteorology department, unstable weather conditions \u2014 including heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and occasional hail \u2014 are expected to persist through Friday before gradually easing from Saturday.
