{"id":207,"date":"2026-01-09T10:57:46","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T10:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=207"},"modified":"2026-01-09T10:57:47","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T10:57:47","slug":"workers-remittances-pakistan-december-2025-sbp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=207","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan Records $19.7bn Remittances in First Half of FY26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD:<\/strong> Workers\u2019 remittances increased to <strong>$3.6 billion in December 2025<\/strong>, marking a <strong>16.5 per cent year-on-year rise<\/strong>, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SBP figures showed that cumulative remittances during the <strong>first half of fiscal year 2025-26 (July\u2013December)<\/strong> reached <strong>$19.7 billion<\/strong>, compared to <strong>$17.8 billion<\/strong> during the same period of the previous fiscal year, reflecting an increase of around <strong>11 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a month-on-month basis, remittance inflows rose <strong>13 per cent<\/strong> from <strong>$3.2 billion recorded in November 2025<\/strong>, while inflows in December 2024 stood at <strong>$3.1 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to market analysts, the upward trend in remittances continues to be supported by higher overseas employment in recent years, a reduced gap between formal and informal exchange rates, and the continuation of government incentives aimed at encouraging remittances through official channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Topline Securities said it expects the positive momentum to persist and maintained its full-year remittance target of <strong>$41 billion for FY26<\/strong>, representing a <strong>7.5 per cent increase<\/strong> from the <strong>$38 billion<\/strong> recorded in FY25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Country-wise data for December showed that <strong>Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances<\/strong>, contributing <strong>$813 million<\/strong>, followed by the <strong>United Arab Emirates with $726 million<\/strong>, the <strong>United Kingdom with $560 million<\/strong>, the <strong>European Union with $499 million<\/strong>, <strong>other GCC countries with $333 million<\/strong>, and the <strong>United States with $302 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the UAE, remittance inflows amounted to <strong>$566 million from Dubai<\/strong>, <strong>$130 million from Abu Dhabi<\/strong>, <strong>$12.75 million from Sharjah<\/strong>, and <strong>$17.5 million from other emirates<\/strong>, the SBP data added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Workers\u2019 remittances increased to $3.6 billion in December 2025, marking a 16.5 per cent year-on-year rise, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday.&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":208,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[64,66,35,65,67],"class_list":["post-207","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-economy","tag-economy","tag-fy2026","tag-pakistan","tag-remittance","tag-state-bank-of-pakistan"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
