Tehran: Iran has officially announced its new Supreme Leader, with Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei elected to the position following a vote by the Assembly of Experts, according to Iranian state media reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Assembly of Experts confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei was elected with a large majority vote, making him the third Supreme Leader in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He succeeds his father, Ali Khamenei, who was recently martyred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
