ISLAMABAD: The first 100 hours of the United States military campaign against Iran are estimated to have cost about $3.7 billion, averaging nearly $891.4 million per day, according to a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Washington-based think tank said the financial burden is expected to increase if the conflict continues for several weeks, as indicated by US President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its analysis, CSIS noted that the US Department of Defense may require additional funding beyond its current budget allocations to sustain military operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report explained that the initial phase of an air campaign is typically the most expensive because it relies heavily on advanced and high-cost munitions and precision weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe cost of munitions will decline as the United States switches to lower-cost munitions,\u201d the think tank said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, it warned that the overall unplanned expenses would remain substantial and could create budgetary challenges for the United States Department of Defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to CSIS, funding the conflict solely through internal budget adjustments could be politically and operationally difficult, meaning additional congressional funding may eventually be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
