Washington: President Trump has lashed out at Britain\u2019s PM Starmer for refusing to back Washington\u2019s war against Iran, warning that the so-called \u201cspecial relationship\u201d now faces strain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe has not been helpful\u2026I never thought I\u2019d see that. I never thought I\u2019d see that from the UK,\u201d Trump said of Starmer.He added that ties between the two countries had shifted dramatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a different world, actually. It\u2019s just a much different kind of relationship that we\u2019ve had with your country before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dTrump said he had never expected to see what he described as the once \u201cmost solid of all\u201d alliances come under such pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US president also suggested that Washington no longer depends on Britain to prosecute its wars in the Middle East.\u201cIt\u2019s not going to matter, but [Starmer] should have helped\u2026 he should have,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
