The council demanded that <strong>Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)<\/strong> immediately withdraw from the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As night fell, thousands of people gathered at the shooting site in a residential neighborhood, holding candles and chanting slogans. The officer involved was treated at a hospital and later released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Political Fallout and Public Outrage<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Minnesota Governor <strong>Tim Walz<\/strong> blamed the Trump administration for escalating tensions and said the <strong>National Guard<\/strong> had been placed on alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat we are seeing is the result of governance built on fear and confrontation,\u201d Walz said. \u201cToday, that recklessness cost someone their life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump, in a social media post, defended the agent\u2019s actions, claiming the video showed the woman \u201cviolently\u201d striking the officer.
